About Marco Polo
Marco Polo traveled to Asia in the later part of the 13th Century, he wasn’t the first to European to visit but was the first to chronicle his travels and experience. What he brought back and shared inspired the culture of Italy and future explorer Christopher Columbus to broaden their horizons to the larger World.
One of the many lasting impacts of Marco Polo’s “The Travels of Marco Polo” was the introduction of food and drink preparations and spices still found in Italian cuisine today. Garlic, Cinnamon, Pasta, Star Anise (Sambuca), Chicken and Pork all find their roots in Asia.
At Marco Polo Restaurant we reveal the natural fusion of Italian and Asian cuisine created so many years ago.
